Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Claura app and this website. By downloading or using Claura, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The service

Claura is software that lets people 16 and older practice spoken English with an AI. Replies and scores are generated by automated systems. Claura is not a live class, not a human teacher, and not a substitute for professional instruction, medical advice, or an exam course. The app does not guarantee fluency, a job, or any specific result.

Talk and pronunciation need a microphone and an internet connection. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Use your own judgment.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should approve your use of the app and any store purchases. Claura is not designed for children under 16. You must follow Google Play and App Store rules for in-app purchases in your country.

3. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Claura on devices you own or control. You may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the app, or use it to build a competing service.

You keep rights to your own speech. You grant us a limited license to process audio, transcripts, and profile answers only as needed to provide and improve the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Free use

Without Premium, Claura currently allows about 1 talk session per day and 3 pronunciation words per day on the free tier. Limits may change. Some scenarios stay locked until you subscribe. Closing a paywall does not delete your progress.

5. Claura Premium — auto-renewing subscriptions

Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription billed by Google Play or the Apple App Store, not by Claura directly. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.

Plans (US list prices; your store shows the price that applies to you)

Yearly and monthly plans may include a 7-day free trial when the store offer is active. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the selected plan converts to a paid auto-renewing subscription at the then-current store price.

Renewal

The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (or as required by the store). Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. After purchase, the store shows the remaining trial or paid term.

How to cancel

• Google Play: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Claura → Cancel
• App Store: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Claura → Cancel Subscription

Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Restore purchases from the in-app paywall if you reinstall on the same store account.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Google or Apple under their policies. Email us if you need help finding the right store page.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Claura to harass anyone, generate illegal content, attack our systems, or share malware. Do not upload audio you do not have the right to process. We may suspend access if you abuse the service or create unreasonable load on AI or speech APIs.

7. AI content

Tutor lines, scores, and tips are generated automatically. They may be inaccurate. Do not rely on them as certified language assessment or legal, medical, or career advice.

8. Intellectual property

The Claura name, icon, app, and original lesson copy are owned by the operator of Claura or its licensors. Third-party libraries and store platforms keep their own rights.

9. Disclaimer

Claura is provided “as is.” We do not warrant uninterrupted service, perfect recognition, or error-free AI. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Claura and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for a claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim (often zero if you only used the free tier). These limits do not affect rights that cannot be waived in your country of residence.

11. Changes

We may update the app and these terms. Continued use after we post a change on this page means you accept the updated terms. If a change is material, we will update the date at the top.
